The Rundown: Ace and Valentina make a startling discovery about the idyllic Unity as its citizens go to war.

Ace and Valentina travel out into deep waters to find some answers about what caused an event so massive that it resonated beyond the walls of the country and into the rest of the world. Unbeknownst to the scientists, those answers are closer than they think and have everything to do with a meeting of reps from the territories of the US and how Dr. Jain’s need for more power causes a bigger rift among the factions.

As the duo find themselves in a replica of the Capitol in the middle of the ocean, the rest of the party finds themselves fighting to defend Unity against an attack of unknown origin. As one member of the team gets taken in by the promise of Unity, Ace and Valentina will discover its twisted reality.

The Story: Bold, beautiful storytelling from Soule and Snyder. Both writers draw you in with an engaging premise, interesting characters and familiar conflicts, but the story takes some awesome twists and turns that keep you wanting to see what happens next. The plot continues to expand into new and exciting territory as events unfold and I was blown away by the final reveals in this issue.

The Art: Camuncoli and Marcello Grassi deliver some breathtaking art in this issue. The imagery is inventive, beautiful and filled with energy. I was impressed with every page and panel and surprised by the horrific beauty of the final page.
