The Rundown: A model finds herself dealing with an unknown threat.

Cami is a successful model who is on her way to New York City. When her plane arrives, one of the workers looks up at her and smiles before throwing himself into the engine. At the same time, a new model named Ivy makes her way to the city and the shared apartment of models who work for the same agency she has been hired for. After meeting her boss again, she is whisked away to a casting call.

When Cami arrives, she tells the other girls what happened, but she continues to see strange things that are targeted to her. As Ivy learns the dark side of modeling, Cami is haunted by something unusual as well as her career and things come to a head when Cami disappears and the girls return home to find something shocking.

The Story: Hannah Rose May crafts a dark, thrilling and entertaining story in this first issue. I am a fan of the Smile movie series and this story is a great prequel to that series with haunting moments, interesting characters and a plot that highlights different and varying degrees of horror. There is great atmosphere throughout the story and a series of compelling characters that make me interested in seeing what happens next.

The Art: Puglia creates some beautifully detailed and visually engaging art throughout the issue. I love the contrast between the beauty of the characters and the horror of the entity and what it is doing to Cami.
