The Rundown: A League member suspects something is wrong with his friends while another discovers that absolute power corrupts.

The villain amnesty program continues to get blowback from the public as well as members of the League including Ray Palmer. After Batman and Lex return with weapons from Darkseid, Batman calls for a meeting with everyone who participated in the tournament. At the same time, Ray begins his own investigation and discovers something disturbing about the survivors that will cause him to meet with other heroes in secret to begin a plan.
After fighting off animals infused with the powers of the League, the heroes find themselves facing Despero who reveals that he caused the crash to steal the powers for himself. As the heroes fight against Despero and the mind-controlled creatures, one of the members of the Justice League will find a way to infuse himself with those powers to stop Despero and will have a hard time trying to find a reason to return them.
The Story: Waid crafts a dark, thrilling and engaging story in this issue. Both parts of the story are equally compelling and creative with one story exploring paranoia and a mystery surrounding the heroes while another dives into pure action and adventure leading to a member of the League having to face the cost of having unlimited power. I really enjoyed the places Waid took this story and cannot wait to see where they go next.
The Art: Mora and Ossio create stunning imagery throughout the issue. Both art styles complement each other perfectly and I love the seamless way they combine on the page.
