The Rundown: A lonely coastal town receives an unexpected visitor.

A dreary coastal town filled with people living with regret gets an unexpected visitor when a ship crashes into the waters off the coast. The people find a small coffin among the rubble and bring it to the local inn only to find a small child inside who is seemingly alive.

The little girl, Leonide, brings new life to the town and the inhabitants celebrate with laughter, drinking and song. When a local priest arrives to stop the revelry, he is quickly taken away before the people of the village discover the true purpose of Leonide’s visit and what it will cost them.

The Story: I really enjoyed the mystery and twists in this first issue. It’s a unique story populated with an interesting character that is charming in a way that draws in the reader the same way she does her hapless victims. I enjoyed the way the story progressed and how the antagonist is introduced. I look forward to seeing where the story goes next.

The Art: Aragno delivers some beautiful art in the issue. The visual style draws in the reader and I love the visual contrast between the characters and the world of the story.
