The Rundown: Riley and his friends deal with suspicion and suspension while Patty gets an unexpected reprieve.

It’s the middle of the night and Riley is having a hard team dealing with being suspended and the fact that he still has homework to do. When he gets a tap on his window, he thinks it’s one of his friends, but it is really Amy is forced into a conversation with Patty to clear the air between the two of them.
The next day, Patty wakes up late to find the family and friends being taken care of by her new assistant. A revelation that not only puts her in the position of telling a truth she didn’t want to reveal, but also giving her loved ones a chance to help her find the book she’s having trouble writing. As everyone gets to work on the case, Susan returns to her hotel where she is hiding a dark secret while Riley and his dad discover another dead body close to home.
The Story: Kelly Sue DeConnick continues to craft a beautifully engaging, charming and wholly unique story both in style and narrative in this issue. I love diving into the world being created in this series and how rich and emotional it continues to be while deftly blending mystery, humor and heart throughout the issue. I love the buildup of tension throughout the story and how the two reveals immediately grabbed my attention and made me want more.
The Art: Lopez offers some truly beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the mixing of mediums and visual styles and how each page has a unique look that captures the eye and the imagination.
