The Rundown: Wonder Woman begins a mission to say goodbye to a friend as an old enemy resurfaces.

Diana decides to meet with an old friend to discuss her latest adventures in the afterlife and Etta is interested in every detail. As the two discuss the afterlife and Diana’s appreciation for being back, Doctor Psycho showing up on television immediately dampens the mood. Etta takes a call and prepares to leave as Diana asks her not to tell Steve that they had lunch together. Diana decides to race off and confront Psycho face to face. In the aftermath, he decides to show her he still has power and warn her to back off.

Diana decides to pay Deadman a visit in order to deal with some unfinished business from the other side. She discovers that the sword she’s been using has a connection back on Earth and she and Boston decide to take a trip to deliver it. At the same time, Steve is attacked by a creature that looks like Diana and Psycho takes possession of an artifact that could mean danger for Wonder Woman. As Diana travels with Boston, she sees something that terrifies her.

The Story: Conrad and Cloonan complicate Diana’s return in some interesting and engaging ways in this issue. The Doctor Psycho moments are entertaining and antipathy towards Diana is intriguing. Diana’s avoidance of Steve is another interesting dramatic note that I am interested in seeing explored and Diana’s mission with Deadman seems intriguing as well. I look forward to what comes next.

The Art: Takara crafts some beautiful art throughout the issue. There is a great tone to the visuals and the art is engaging throughout.
