The Rundown: Peter uncovers a Nazi conspiracy as he debates telling Gwen the truth.
Spider-Man finds himself teaming with his orphan friends to track down one of their own who has been taken by a Nazi scientist to be experimented on. After crashing into her base Peter finds himself fighting off an escaped experiment he dubs the Plasma Man as another experiment escapes the burning lab.
Peter deals with telling Gwen the truth about her father and his connection to the man’s death with both Mary Jane and May encouraging him to tell her the truth. When Peter learns of another Nazi location in the city, Spider-Man infiltrates it to find Plasma Man waiting for him and an even bigger threat waiting to be activated.
The Story: Larsen continues to create a fun thrilling and entertaining story in this issue. I love the conflict in the story as well as how complicated the character’s life is becoming. I like the incorporation of the Nazi storyline and its subtle hints at some real-world issues. The story has some fun action throughout, but it is the character conflicts that kept me engaged.
The Art: Cresta delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. I really love the visual style and the character designs.
