The Rundown: Space Ghost is asked to help stop an invading threat in the form of the Herculoids.

On the planet Amzot, Zandor sits with his son Dorno who has been plagued with nightmares. After talking with his son and helping him find piece, Zandor’s world is torn apart when his wife and child go missing and his planet is attacked. He gathers his forces, the Herculoids, and pledges to destroy those he feels are responsible, the Galactic Federation.

Space Ghost and his team are fighting a group of pirates trying to take a deep space freighter. As the kids help the crew escape, Space Ghost takes on the leader who is infused with a mysterious power. After being called by the Federation for help, Space Ghost is tasked with taking down an intergalactic threat, Zandor and his Herculoids.

The Story: Pepose crafts a thrilling, entertaining and compelling story in this issue. I like the separate points of view in the story and how Zandor has a legitimate beef with the Federation. It’s plain to see that both sides are being manipulated, but Pepose creates great tension throughout those moments and the suspense comes from the reader wondering who will discover the manipulation first and will it be too late by the time they do. I look forward to seeing where this story goes next.

The Art: Lau creates some beautifully detailed and visually dynamic art throughout the issue. Everything from the character designs to the action is beautifully drawn and filled with the intensity the story demands.
