The Rundown: Miles tries to have a life while Jefferson’s past comes back to haunt him.

In the past, Jefferson continues his work for SHIELD and his latest assignment will have him getting recruited by a low-level criminal to infiltrate a mutant growth hormone smuggling operation to bring it down. Jefferson is hesitant to take on the assignment especially since he knows the man he is using will be brought down as well and Jefferson is unaware of the consequences of taking on that assignment when it comes to an end.

In the present, Miles is trying to get to know Valentina, but the cost of being Spider-Man makes it hard for him to be completely honest with her. As the two share some time and stories, an explosion at the hospital gets his attention and he has to cut his date short as Revenant has returned and is threatening Miles’ mother Rio. Miles leaps in to fight the returning threat but finds himself outmatched.

The Story: Hill creates a tense, engaging and entertaining adventure in this issue. I continue to love the parallel stories with both Miles and Jefferson and how the sins of the father are being visited on the son as Miles finds himself having to defend everyone he loves against someone determined to make his father suffer. There’s some great action throughout the story and I cannot wait to see where it goes next.

The Art: Leon and De Landro create some beautifully detailed and visually engaging moments throughout the issue. I love the contrast in visual styles and how each side serves the story both from the action aspects to the deeper crime noir moments.
