The Rundown: Sue takes on a case to free Black Cat after she’s arrested for murder.
Reed, Johnny and Ben are taking a trip to the Negative Zone leaving Sue and Alicia behind to hang out. Unfortunately, their vacation time is interrupted by Black Cat asking for help because she has been accused of murder. After talking to Felicia in jail, Sue is not convinced that Felicia is innocent and Alicia digs into why Sue doesn’t trust her.
Sue decides to pay a visit to the crime scene and becomes convinced that there is something wrong. After bailing out Felicia, the two team up to discover who the real killer is and how they managed to pull off a seemingly perfect crime.
The Story: North crafts a fun and entertaining story in this issue. It’s a great standalone adventure for Sue and has an interesting sort of tension to it as I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop with Felicia. I think the distrust of the character from the reader is reflected in Sue’s reaction to her plight and that made the story more engaging.
The Art: Ramos crafts some beautifully detailed and stylish art throughout the issue. I love the imagery and how it leans into the fun of the story.
