The Rundown: A new member of the Justice League fights a dark entity connected to a bigger threat.

Andres wakes up from another nightmare about his daughter and joins again with the spirit of Cadejo to stop a demon from sacrificing a child to open a portal between the world and the dark realm. At the same time, his friends return to the Watchtower after a deep space mission with Blue Beetle. They learn the story about how he joined the League from Billy as Cadejo finds himself facing a demonic ritual.

As Cadejo fights to save the child at the heart of the ritual, his allies call on Zatanna for help in finding a way to help him. As members of the League teleport to the area to aid Cadejo in his fight, they will discover that this ritual is connected to an even bigger threat that is coming for the League and the world.

The Story: Mora crafts an entertaining, thrilling and intense story in this issue. The character is compelling and his backstory is dark and interesting. The story has some great dark tones to it and I love the connection to both the justice league dark style of story and the bigger League stories that are being developed. I really like the direction of this issue in how it deals with characters outside of the main League and I hope to see more of them.

The Art: Mora has become one of my favorite artists and the art in this issue is another reflection of how good he is at both character design and visual spectacle. I thought it would be daunting to see all the different characters throughout the issue, but Mora handles them brilliantly with the visuals so everything feels seamless and necessary for the sake of the story.
