The Rundown: Batman goes looking for Superman and finds a dangerous threat.

Batman and Robin clash with Warlord as they learn more about Kreitzer and what he’s been doing on Skataris since he arrived. At the same time, Superman has been captured and is being tortured by the man they came to find in order to unlock the hero’s powers. Batman goes on his own to find Superman while Robin stays behind to help Warlord and his group.
As Morgan discovers something about Kreitzer’s plans, he tells Robin the history of the island. Unfortunately, they find themselves being attacked by creatures who have Superman’s powers while Batman discovers that something has happened to the Man of Steel and that he might be next.
The Story: Waid crafts a dark, thrilling adventure in this issue. I am enjoying the progression of the story, the tension between Batman and Warlord as well as what is happening with Superman. There is some great action as well as a great buildup of suspense leading to two great reveals that make me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Gutierrez creates some beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue.
