The Rundown: Virgil works to bring a new opportunity for Earth while Terry deals with a familiar threat in Gotham.
The Justice League is in deep space preparing an experiment that will bring the planet into a new cooperative with other worlds. Static is leading the mission with Icon, Superman and the rest of the League helping along with Terry who was sent by Bruce to observe. After the experiment brings the League into a space battle, the heroes return home.
Virgil returns home to his family in Dakota while Terry returns to school where a local protest is being planned and organized by a young man named Melvin who is wary of a new technological innovation that is affecting people close to him. At the protest, Jokerz attack and Batman is unable to stop them before someone gets hurt.
The Story: Narcisse crafts a fun, entertaining story in this first issue. I love how the story establishes the world and its conflicts as well as the interpersonal conflicts with the characters. The first few pages as well as the finale have some amazing action throughout and I am intrigued to see where this story goes and how its characters converge within it.
The Art: Draper-Ivey delivers some beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the visual style of the issue and how it brings to life the future worlds of Gotham and Dakota.
