The Rundown: Peter tracks a killer in the city draining the life out of his victims.

Peter sits in a local bar as Spider-Man when a man bursts in claiming to see ghosts everywhere. After stopping the man and his advanced weapons, he sees that the man might be right. After leaving, he laments how he is going to give Gwen what she wants when what she wants in the identity of Spider-Man.
At the same time, the killer returns and is draining the life from petty criminals when Spider-Man arrives to stop him. After taking Peter’s life force and powers, the man disappears and returns wearing Spider-Man’s outfit to kill criminals throughout the city leaving a powerless Peter to find a way to protect the people he loves without being Spider-Man.
The Story: Larsen continues to craft a fun, entertaining noir mystery in this issue. Peter’s struggles are compelling and engaging and I really enjoyed the interactions with Aunt May and Mary Jane after Peter loses his powers. I like the threat of the killer in this issue and look forward to seeing what his connection to Gwen Stacy is.
The Art: Broccardo crafts some beautifully detailed and visually exciting images throughout the issue. I really enjoyed the visual style of the issue and the character designs.
