The Rundown: Wonder Woman and Donna Troy must defeat Warmaster and her Horsewomen with the one weapon they haven’t tried, truth.

The Queen of the Valkyries is the last one standing in an epic battle against the Amazons. In her mercy, Hippolyta spares the queen and allows her leave the island with her dead. An act that will have consequences in the presence as the Valkyrie’s descendant Warmaster battles to destroy Themyscira and every Amazon on the island. What neither of them know is that the queen of the Valkyries was visited by a stranger with role in the events.

In the present, Diana and Donna rally the Amazon warriors to take down the Horsewomen. A strategy that will include severing Paula’s link to one of her minions. With the battle raging on and Diana getting the upper hand, As Diana confronts Paula about her pain, the stranger returns to make Warmaster pay for both her sins and those of her ancestors. An act that will prompt Wonder Woman to battle at the gates of Heaven itself to help an enemy.

The Story: Dramatic, thoughtful and full of action, Steve Orlando gives Diana more room to grow and evolve as a character both in her beliefs and her philosophy. The story allows Wonder Woman to be both the capable warrior and instrument of compassion and both those traits make the story more interesting than some battle to the death could. All of the complicated emotions and drama are handled brilliantly and every character moment felt earned through the dialogue.

The Art: Jesus Merino captures the beauty and strength of Wonder Woman and Donna Troy beautifully in the art. Every character looks amazing in both strength and capability. A great looking issue that dazzles with its action and characters.
