The Rundown: More missing mutant kids prompts the turtles to investigate and they run into some old enemies on the way.
The turtles discover that one of their students at the dojo is missing. After taking to the streets to find him or any evidence to help them, the find a mousers in the area and proceed to follow them.
After taking to the sewers, the turtles find that a legend among the residents might be real. When the turtles start disappearing one by one, the legend becomes all too real. At the same time, April makes a discovery about Baxter Stockman.
The Story: This issue has a great flow to it. It has some fun moments throughout and the dialogue captures the spirit of what makes these characters so compelling and enduring. The plot is well done and is structured to bring the reader on an interesting journey as we follow the Turtles on a mission with rising tension throughout. I’m interested in seeing where this story goes next with the effective stakes and climax the story lays out.
The Art: Nelson Daniel has done some great work with the art in this issue. The character designs are fun and there are some fun details throughout the panels. There are a lot of fun visuals in this story and they capture the tone of the story well.
