The Rundown: Janeway’s attempt to escape fluidic space will lead her to a dangerous choice.
Voyager is still trapped in fluidic space and manage to find a way to fight their way off the Species 8472 ship and back to Voyager. The ship struggles to escape from their pursuers and find a place to hide as they attempt to make repairs on the ship and find a way out of fluidic space to help Tuvok who is struggling with a condition that is quickly destroying his mind.
After sending out a probe, the crew discover a damaged Borg ship in the area and investigate. Seven discovers that the remaining Borg, cut off from the collective, have created a deflector to help them escape. With no power to do it on their own, they propose an alliance with Voyager to free both ships, but Species 8472 gives a counter proposal that will free the ship, but only if they destroy the Borg.
The Story: Susan and Tilly Bridges continue to create a thrilling, engaging story in this issue with plenty of twists and tension to keep me excited. There is not only great dialogue throughout the issue as well as awesome action, but the story builds to a fantastic choice for Janeway to make and raises the stakes for her and the rest of the crew as it forces her to constantly confront how far she is willing to go to bring her crew home.
The Art: Hernandez delivers stunning art throughout the issue. I love the visuals and the action is beautifully detailed.
