The Rundown: Chapel and the rest of the away team fight to escape an alien prison and contact the Enterprise.

Christine is confronted by the creature inhabiting the body of her friend and the other researchers as it tells her what they are and how they have been trapped beneath their research station looking for a means of escape. Unable to reach the Enterprise, Spock and the others continue their search while the ship finds itself surrounded by an unknown aggressor.

Chapel manages to escape with the help of Spock and Una. As they make their way back to the sub, the Enterprise learns more about the creatures they are facing. Information that might come too late as the away team finds their escape cut off and Chapel finds Una and La’an infected with the same creatures controlling her friend.

The Story: Thompson crafts a thrilling, entertaining story in this issue. The story has some great thrills throughout and a growing sense of danger that I enjoyed. The story has some intense moments for the characters, especially Christine and Thompson does a great job of shifting the action and thrills between the away team and the space battle. The story builds to an intense cliffhanger that makes me excited to see what happens next.

The Art: Acuna crafts some beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. I really love the look of this issue and the characters.
