The Rundown: Erica has a final confrontation with Cutter, but it will have a tragic resolution for everyone involved.
Cutter moves in for the kill, but Erica’s costly mistake during their fight hits Gabi with a poisoned arrow. As the two hunters battle it out, Cutter shows Erica that the monster she came there to kill is coming for her as well. Gabi decides to do something desperate with the poison racing through her veins and attacks the monster that killed her family.
In the aftermath of the battle, the Order comes in force to the town and begins the clean up process. At the same time, Erica finds her way out of town as someone left behind vows revenge for what she’s lost.
The Story: James Tynion IV brings this story to a brutal, bittersweet conclusion. The story takes some dark and unexpected turns throughout as it builds on the suspense and tension. The action is brilliantly brutal and personal and I love that the story doesn’t wrap up everything neatly. There are scars all over this story and the characters within it. Scars I want to see explored.
The Art: Dell’Edera delivers some powerful art in this issue. The art is beautifully detailed and brutal both in its action and emotions.
