The Rundown: A new detective in the Powers division will begin an investigation with ties to the past.

Detective Kutter and Dr. Marrs find themselves on the rooftops of the city where a giant hero has crashed and died on the scene. As they both approach, the Power begins to move prompting Kutter to pull her weapon. Unfortunately, her actions are streamed to the world and she is called into the office to answer for what happened.

In the aftermath, she is told that not only will she be getting a new partner, but they all hear that there has been a new law passed that will make their jobs policing powers even harder. A law Captain Deena Pilgrim has a huge problem with. When Kutter is called to another crime scene, she sees the state of the victim and finds something on the scene that will lead directly to Pilgrim.

The Story: I love that Bendis is returning to this world and this story has a great introduction to that world for both fans of the series and new readers. It opens with a great introduction to the new characters and a great return of Deena Pilgrim. I like that she is part of the mystery at play in the story and look forward to seeing where this story goes next and what new twists and turns Bendis has in store for this world and the reader.

The Art: Michael Avon Oeming delivers fantastic art throughout the issue. I love the visual style of this series and the imagery has a great blend of humor and heroism on every page and panel.
