The Rundown: Bruce awakens to find that Bane has left all of his friends changed.

Bruce is given a desperate choice by Waylon beneath the sewers of Gotham. After being in a coma for almost a month, Bruce awakens and Alfred tells him that he’s in it now as he leaves to returns home to visit his distraught mother. After that, he heads to the hospital and discovers that Bane paid a visit to his friends and left them all scarred and broken in different ways.

Thinking back on his recent past and his deals with some of the criminal underworld of Gotham, Bruce suits up and decides to take a new tactic when dealing with Bane as his base is infiltrated and he finds himself mask to mask with a familiar face.

The Story: Snyder crafts a dark, thrilling and entertaining story in this issue. Snyder takes this story in some dark, twisted and unexpected places that impressed me both in thought and execution. Snyder is going out of his way to show just how twisted Bane is and how calculated his plan for Bruce is by going after the people he cares about. I cannot wait to see where this story goes next.

The Art: Dragotta delivers dark, stunning and visceral art throughout the issue. The visual depictions of what happened to Bruce’s friends is haunting and I loved every moment.
