The Rundown: Two rebels work to bring down a repressive regime.

In a small town in Nebraska, a couple belonging to a religious cult find themselves in the middle of an intergalactic conflict that leaves behind something interesting. Something that can possibly change the course of the world.

Years later, two young people find themselves running for their lives after procuring some items from a dangerous religious entity. Items that they hope will help them end the tyranny of a dangerous cult that controls their lives.

The Story: Remender crafts a fun story with great action and thrills. You don’t get much sense of the world of the story in the first issue or much of a connection to the characters beyond them being cool, but there is enough there to intrigue the reader with the promise of things to come. I liked the subtle reference in the beginning of the issue to a famous comic origin with a twist.

The Art: Bengal delivers some great art in the issue. The action is visually thrilling throughout.
