Everyone’s favorite Canadian mutant is getting ready to bring a new story to Marvel Comics fans in a new genre.

Marvel Comics and Stitcher Premium have joined forces to produce and release a ten episode serialized story featuring Wolverine called ‘The Long Night’. According to sources, the podcast will be told in the style of S-Town or Serial with elements of True Detective. ‘The Long Night’ will center on two government agents Sally Pierce and Tad Marshall who are sent to a remote town in Alaska to investigate a series of murders. They are teamed with a local deputy named Bobby Reid to track down and bring in their main suspect, Logan.

“Because he’s been mind-wiped again and again, he doesn’t know the whole terrible truth about his life. Part of the series is him recovering those memories and despite his attempts to separate himself from society, getting drawn into a situation where frontier justice is called for.” writer Ben Percy states. “There are all these broken pieces that are being fitted together, and a shifting set of suspects, and every episode, you learn more and at the same time, recognize that you’ve been mistaken all along. It functions like a turnstile of mysteries,”

“There are glimmers that people will recognize, references to Weapon X and wartime Logan, Japan and past relationships that he’s had. But he himself is not able to really work through his moth-eaten memory until the conclusion of this first season.” Percy says when talking about the overall plot of the series.

Wolverine: The Long Night will feature a full voice cast including Celia Keenan-Bolger, Ato Essandoh and Andrew Keenan-Bolger. The production has also cast actor Richard Armitage as Logan. Armitage is familiar to fans for his work on the series Hannibal as well as his role of Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit films.

Wolverine: The Long Night will premiere in Spring 2018.
