Letters by Michael Heisler
The Rundown: Mechanika and Lewis will find themselves embroiled in the same mystery.

Singh enlists Mechanika’s help to investigate a missing toymaker who has a connection to one of her previous cases. After agreeing to help, she pays a visit to Lewis’ home and discovers that the girls and Fred’s uncle are working on a secret project as Allie continues her cold indifference to Mechanika herself.
Lewis and the girls return to the menagerie to work on the damaged automatons while Mechanika and Singh pay a visit to the missing man’s daughter to get information. As they speak to the young woman, Lewis reveals something that sends Mr. Whim away and both Mechanika and Lewis find themselves on opposite ends of the same case with one being put in immediate danger.
The Story: Holly-Rosing crafts a thrilling, engaging mystery in this issue. Not only do I love the individual conflicts and how they are featured, but I love how the story brings the characters together through the shared mystery and from different ends. There are some great character moments throughout the story and the story builds to a great cliffhanger that makes me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Benitez and Montiel create some beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. I also love the vibrant colors by Rich and how they enhance every visual moment.
