The Rundown: Koshchei takes on a demon as a bigger threat looms.

Sword in hand, Koshchei enters the realm of a demon who has gone mad over the years. A demon who has thwarted any attempt at killing her. A demon he has met before. As the two dialogue, the madness of the demon and her connection to Hellboy drive her to lash out violently.

In the wake of their battle, Koshchei is victorious, but as he washes up on the nearby shore, he finds himself in the middle of another battle. At the same time, another presence sits and watches his adventures with interest.

The Story: An entertaining continuation of the story from the first issue. The character continues to be engaging and the plot is filled with great action and dialogue. I love the surreal atmosphere of this world and the way Koshchei navigates through it. I also want to know more about the mystery within the series and what the watcher’s plans are for Koshchei.

The Art: Stenbeck delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. The imagery brilliantly captures and conveys the strangeness and wonder of the world of these characters.
