Letters by Steve Wands

The Rundown: Batman and Lex Luthor team up to run down a shared vision of a dark future.

A group of mercenaries makes their way to Slaughter Swamp with packages and run into Batman and Lex Luthor who discover they are dealing in alien arms. Arms that were being delivered to a strange house that bursts from the water.

Batman and Lex enter the house and they both know that they are about to face Prometheus who has been studying the League to gain more power while also augmenting both his arsenal and the mercenaries he hired. Lex and Batman must survive both the alien technology and an enemy that knows their moves and tactics if they have a chance of surviving and getting the answers they seek.

The Story: Waid and Williamson craft an entertaining story in this issue. The sniping and back and forth between Batman and Lex was fun to see and there is some great action throughout the issue. I like the mystery being set up at the heart of this story and look forward to seeing where it goes.

The Art: Mendonca creates some great art throughout the issue and I love the style of the action as well as the character designs.
