The Rundown: Tony’s newfound powers will prompt his friends to team up with a dangerous ally.

The aftermath of Tony Stark’s gift to the citizens of New York is having unexpected effects both positive and negative as diseases are being cured and new renewable energy sources are being created by citizens. The downsides include unstable stock markets, an increase in theft and a rise in megalomaniacs wanting to take over the world. With chaos rising all over the city, Patsy turns to Doctor Doom for help. When another person arrives at the meeting, the others realize Patsy called in some cosmic help as well.

At the same time, Tony is dealing with people who are both condemning his actions and asking for more of his power. Something that prompts him to use his power again before leaving the room to begin the next part of his plan. When Tony arrives at Patsy’s, he discovers his friends waiting for him. Unfortunately, Patsy finds herself unable to hold back her anger and her rant at him forcing their plan to stop him be accelerated. A plan that could mean the end of his friends and a path to a dark place.

The Story: The story has great tension throughout as the reader sees the changes in Tony Stark. We know that he needs to be stopped and the story does a great job of showing why. What also adds to the tension is wondering if Doom can be trusted to be the one to help. Cantwell does a wonderful job of ramping up the tension and keeping the reader guessing as to what will happen next.

The Art: Roberson and Unzueta deliver some great visuals in this issue. The art and its styles do a wonderful job of showcasing the tension of the story and visually building on it on every page.
