The Rundown: Gabby and Trudy discover the truth behind the Horned Man as another threat looms.

After returning to the present, Gabby and Trudy head into the woods with their friends and discover the device that everyone seems to think will bring about the end of the world. When Gabby touches it, she finally sees who and what the Horned Man really is and exactly what he wants.

As Trudy’s father and his forces move into the area, the ladies enact a plan to keep them busy while they look for a place to hide. Unfortunately, they underestimate the persistence of Trudy’s father and his plans for both Gabby and the device.

The Story: The action is more intense and the tension is higher in this issue. Starks does a fantastic job of enhancing the dark tones of the story while making the characters relatable and engaging. I continue to enjoy the expanding lore of this series and the backstory was a great way of adding layers to the narrative and the world of the story. I love the tense character interactions and look forward to seeing what comes next.

The Art: Topilin delivers some fantastic visuals throughout the issue. The art perfectly captures the tension and terror of the story.
