The Rundown: Sister Hood confronts the only person the residents of Hyde Street fear more than the Scorekeeper.

Sister Hood makes a trip to the castle of the Matinee Monster after getting an ominous message among her tarot cards. As she is let into the castle, she demands to see the one person everyone on Hyde Street actually fears, a man called The Butcher of Hyde Street. Locked in the castle, Sister Hood is reminded of the circumstances that brought her to Hyde Street.

She is reminded of working with her sister in the 1920’s and how they used their powers for financial gain. A move that brings them to Hyde Street where they are given a choice on who will serve and how. As an outside force threatens to breach the limits of the street, the Butcher makes her an offer while holding something she needs for her work.

The Story: Johns continues to craft an engaging and entertaining story in this issue. I continue to be intrigued by the premise of this series and especially its characters. I like learning so much about the characters and the backstories as well as seeing events unfold with new twists and turns. The introduction of the Butcher is well done and I look forward to seeing more of the character.

The Art: Portela delivers beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. I love the use of shadow and framing in this story and the imagery is great.
