The Rundown: Harley Quinn adjusts to her new life as Hugo Strange takes on a surprising role in Gotham.
When Mayor Nakano announces that Hugo Strange has become head of a treatment initiative for Clowns, Harley become upset. She believes that helping the Clowns is her best way of making amends to the city. Then, after being kicked out of a coffee shop, Harley runs into Kevin. And his dark past is revealed.
Meanwhile, at the S.A.F.E facility, Strange’s true plan is disclosed. When his team discovers Harley is back in Gotham, he sends a team to apprehend her. Harley and Kevin must then decide how to proceed.
The Story: I’m looking forward to seeing Harley and Kevin battle against villains in Gotham City. Even though Harley is reformed, she has lost none of her vibrancy and rowdiness. It’s sure to make for an interesting narrative.
The Art: Plascencia uses bold, brilliant color work to highlight the detailed drawings of Rossmo. It perfectly captures the wild and infectious spirit of Harley. The issue is fun, visually exciting and and very transportive.
