The Rundown: Elvira and Vincent take a road trip to stop an ancient evil from enslaving the world.
After using a bit of showbiz and ghostly magic to stop a rampaging Egyptian demon, both Elvira and Vincent head out to continue their adventure. Vincent reveals how and why his spirit has returned and it has everything to do with the script for a film he was going to make years earlier. Unfortunately, a series of on set mishaps put the production in jeopardy. After revealing that the screenwriter used real spells in the final film, Vincent shows Elvira that the reason she’s been roped into this adventure has everything to do with the failed pitch for her return.
After discovering that the new horror host will be the one to bring about the end of the world, Elvira and Vincent make their way to England in the hopes of finding the missing negative of the film. As Elvira uses her charms to distract the former director and his wife, Vincent takes a look around the house. Unfortunately, both will discover that the couple has been keeping some dark secrets.
The Story: Avallone delivers a consistently fun and energetic romp in this issue. Elvira and Vincent’s banter keeps me invested and entertained with every page. The story continues to be fun and engaging as well with awesome twists and turns that keep me wanting more. What makes this story work so well is the tone it sets and you can’t help but enjoy the ride it takes you on.
The Art: Juan Samu delivers some impressive and fun visuals throughout the issue. The imagery is as fun and exciting as the story.
