The Rundown: Leila and Chachu continue their investigation while she learns more about her uncle.

Leila and Chachu are headed to Vegas to continue the hunt for Chachu’s wife and Leila begins to ask more questions about why he left Canada as they make their way to Cleo’s grandmother’s house. Leila learns more about her uncle both through their conversations and through his interactions with the older woman before they make their way to a local casino and restaurant.

After talking more about his life and revealing not only how he became a detective but also how he met his wife, Chachu discovers something in the newspaper that forces the two to leave quickly as Cleo finds herself being held captive by her co-star who seems obsessed with their work together.

The Story: Vellani continues to craft an engaging and compelling story in this follow up issue. The story takes its time to develop the characters and I appreciate that as a reader. I want to learn more about Chachu and seeing the story through the eyes of Laila allows the good, bad and uncertain to come through as he seems more guarded and stoic. I also like the mystery in the story and how the tension of those moments continues to build.

The Art: Ignazzi creates great art throughout the issue. I love the character designs a lot and the flashbacks have a great visual style that makes them stand out as unique and compelling.
