The Rundown: Toba and his friends attempt to recover his father and discover a bigger plan.

Toba and his friends have found a way to be invisible to the bots stalking them throughout the town and now they have a chance to break into the school to find a way to free Toba’s father. After making their way into the school, it becomes apparent that their plan will have to change when they discover what the bots are working on in the school auditorium.

With few options, they split up with Toba going to save his father and the rest looking for a way to shut down the transmitter on the roof. After Toba re-enters the simulation and finds his father again, the pair find the weapon that might stop Ewon while his friends find themselves surrounded on the roof with nowhere else to go.

The Story: Shobo continues to engage the reader with a great story with awesome characters and world building that is wonderfully complex and interesting. The plot is compelling both emotionally and thematically. I love the tension throughout the story and the brilliant way Shobo is able to capture the imagination of the reader with the themes and characters. I cannot wait to see where this story goes and love the fact that it is unpredictable.

The Art: Kambadais delivers some stellar art in this issue. The imagery is evocative and draws in the reader. There are some great action beats throughout and the imagery perfectly captures the tension within the plot.
