The Rundown: One of Batman’s deadliest villains recruits other villains for a bold world spanning plan.

Batman travels to Arkham when Gordon informs him that Poison Ivy has escaped. Ivy herself is being flown hallway around the world to meet with Ras Al Ghul who has recruited her to be part of his grand plan for the world. A plan that includes Ocean Master, Queen Bee and Tokamak. A week later, Batman and Robin are chasing Killer Moth through the streets and when they finally capture him, Talia arrives just before something happens to Robin that lands him in the hospital.
After discovering that Robin has been poisoned, Superman goes in search of Queen Bee and discovers that she has released a new dangerous swarm of bees. At the same time, Ocean Master has taken control of the Atlantean army and declared war on the surface as Tokamak attacks a nuclear facility. Acts that leave the heroes reeling as they realize they might not be able to save everyone.
The Story: Waid crafts a darker, more thrilling story in this issue. This is a more intense and thoroughly entertaining new arc and I am on board with how big and compelling it is. I really enjoyed this story and the turns it takes for all the characters. There’s great action throughout the story and I cannot wait to see where the story goes next.
The Art: Gutierrez creates some great art throughout the issue. The story is very action heavy and Gutierrez handles it brilliantly with awesome detailed pages and panels.
