The Rundown: Batwoman and Steel attempt to rescue Batman and Superman from the rogue AI testing their strength.

After getting part of the message Batman sent back to the cave, Steel and Batwoman travel to the moon to rescue the heroes. Unfortunately, they get shot down and find themselves fighting an army of robots including a robo-Doomsday.

At the same time, Batman finds himself in the clutches of a robotic version of the Riddler, who he easily defeats before tricking the AI into creating a version of one of his rogues that cannot be either defined or controlled. As the AI continues its tests for Superman, it wants to know more about the nature of villainy and why the heroes do not change their tactics with them. With the knowledge it needs, it proceeds to the next phase of its plans and that involves returning to Earth.

The Story: The story is good. Joshua Williamson provides some clever and interesting insight into the struggle these characters deal with when dealing with their foes and the story has some really good character moments throughout. The cliffhanger was well done, but Steel and Batwoman felt wasted for the most part.

The Art: Max Raynor’s art is fantastic. There is a vibrant energy to the panels, especially the action. I really enjoyed the style of the art as well and the dramatic tension in the fight scenes was brought out perfectly.
