The Rundown: Alfred reveals what he knows about the new threat to Gotham known as the Joker.

Pennyworth and Bruce find themselves in the aftermath of their battle with Bane and Alfred reluctantly tells Bruce the truth about the man they are about the face next. He goes through the complicated history of the man that is called Jack Grimm and how that man and his sons have amassed their considerable fortune. At the same time, Jack makes his way to one of his many private islands for some sport.

After Jack brings down an animal during his hunt, he discovers something else on the island worthy of his attention. Alfred reveals more of his investigation into Grimm and his past and reveals something shocking about the man himself. Something Batman is not prepared to take on as he is unaware that Grimm has returned to Gotham and has been watching him.

The Story: Snyder crafts a thrilling, engaging story in this issue. I love that the series takes the time to build up these characters as growing, interesting and unique threats to both Gotham and Bruce. Snyder creates some genuine tension throughout the story as it builds to the reveal and then continues that tension and suspense towards the end of the issue when you see the character again and where he goes next.

The Art: Jock delivers fantastic art throughout the issue. I love the visuals and the reveal of the Joker is both terrifying and oddly beautiful.
