The Rundown: Sara gets another step closer to finding her father’s killer and that revelation will open her up to more danger.

Sara returns to a former battle site and rescues a young boy with an extraordinary gift. In the aftermath, she continues the investigation into her father’s murder. Not finding any answers, she discovers another door hidden in her father’s secret study. A door that leads directly to the Vatican.

After discovering the secret room in the Vatican, she is attacked by a warrior from the other of the Magdalena. She manages to escape and turns to a friend for help. Help that will include the young boy she helped, his gift and a revelation about the hidden person present at her father’s murder. A person with a connection to the Magdalena who has sent the warrior to stop Sara once and for all.

The Story: Bennett continues to find interesting and engaging ways to expand the world of Witchblade in this issue. There’s great action throughout the issue as well as an intriguing story both in the sense of Sara’s investigation, but also its connection to the Magdalena. I like the introduction of the character and how she is pitted against Sara in the story. It teases some great personal drama to come and I look forward to seeing where it goes.

The Art: Cafaro creates some beautifully detailed and visually exciting art that perfectly captures the tone and mood of the story.
