The Rundown: Tony faces an old adversary who brought some help.

One of Tony Stark’s old adversaries has broken into the Vault to release an accomplice while the new leader of AIM and Madam Masque continue to plot his takeover of the rival AIM factions. A plan that will bring him face to face with the Scientist Supreme who quickly gets a demonstration in Ware’s new abilities. At the same time, Tony and Rhodey continue to work with the students in Tony’s new school.
When Stark is forced to return to the world of business, he and Pepper meet in his office where he receives a visit from Luna and her son. A visit that will turn dangerous when the facility is attacked by Whiplash. As the two fight and Pepper receives an unexpected visitor, Iron Man will realize that there is more than one Whiplash that wants him dead.
The Story: Williamson crafts a straightforward action story in this issue and there are parts of it I really enjoyed. I really liked the action. I liked the reveal at the end of the issue and what it means going forward and I like the growing mystery. That being said, there wasn’t the kind of complexity in storytelling I was expecting from an Iron Man story. It felt too simple in its execution and I was expecting more than just another villain being thrown at Stark to distract him.
The Art: Carnero creates some beautiful imagery throughout the issue and I really loved the action.
