The Rundown: Edward continues to deteriorate as his friends try to find a way to help him.

Daniel finds himself alone in the park when Edward arrives looking frazzled and acting strangely. After showing his old friend something he discovered during one of his trips with his strange wife, he reveals that something is happening to him that he cannot control but that she is in the center of.

The next year, Daniel receives a letter telling him that Edward was found in the woods speaking incoherently and has been taken to the local sheriff. After arriving, Daniel hears more about what is happening to his friend and decides to take him home, but an outburst in the car will make things even scarier for Daniel as Edward’s wife pays a visit to his and her friends.

The Story: Birks continues to craft a dark, thrilling and disturbing psychological thriller in this issue. The story is beautifully atmospheric and the buildup of tension is fantastic. I continue to love the dialogue between the characters and how Edward is slowly coming apart in ways that make him both tragic and scary. I find myself immersed in the world of this story and its connections to Lovecraftian lore. I am excited to see where the story goes next.

The Art: Roberts delivers stunningly dark and disturbing visuals that perfectly capture the tone and mood of the story.
