The Rundown: The Butcher of Hyde Street makes his first move as Mr. X-Ray receives a visitor.

Pranky is wearing X-Ray’s special specs and finds himself trapped in a memory from his past. He is transported to the day he was born and the internment camp his pregnant mother was sent to. As he watches the indignity that she had to face, the Butcher arrives to help him and tells Pranky that he can get him back to his mother if he finds a way to free him. A deal he happily accepts.

At the same time, Mr. X-Ray retrieves his glasses as Pranky makes his escape from the doctor’s office and sees a strange glow that shatters that façade of Hyde Street revealing his daughter Judy who not only knows about the Scorekeeper, but also a secret about Hyde Street that she is desperate to reveal to him.

The Story: Johns continues to craft a thrilling, engaging story in this issue. I am intrigued with the Butcher of Hyde Street, his story and what his presence means for not only the world of the story but also the other characters. I like seeing more of Pranky’s story and how tragic is it and I love how the story ends with the reveal and its connection to X-Ray.

The Art: Ivan Reis creates some beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue.
