The Rundown: Steve Rogers goes after the Grand Skull who happens to be his best friend.
Steve Rogers decides to take on the Grand Skull after discovering that the leader of the group is his former friend Bucky Barnes. As Steve continues to plan for his attack, he thinks back on the Bucky he grew up with as a kid and how they were always there for each other even when Bucky went off to war.
After receiving a message from John Walker who is poised to take over Skull’s operation and is willing to work with Steve and his group to oust Bucky, Steve and his team head into battle and the story reveals what happened to Bucky after Steve disappeared and how the Maker’s world turned him into the Red Skull. A story that will end in tragedy for the former friends.
The Story: Camp continues to craft a thrilling, engaging and inventive story in this issue. I love the fact that this story is personal for Steve Rogers and that it highlights the relationship between him and Bucky as well as the parallels to their lives before and after Steve disappeared. There is some great action throughout the issue and the final moments between Steve and Bucky are brilliantly done including a twist I did not see coming.
The Art: Frigeri crafts beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. I love the art style as well as the thrilling action.
