The Rundown: Steve goes on a mission to learn more about the people he has been trying to help.

Steve and his SHIELD team are on the border of Latveria being confronted by General Ross in his Red Hulk form. As he attempts to intimidate Steve and his group, Fury arrives with information from his superiors that puts Ross on notice. The team enters the city and immediately finds itself dealing with some of the factions competing for control of the country.
Steve meets with the former head of the resistance party and begins to see signs of trouble from his former ally. Steve decides to disguise himself and go among the people to hear what they actually want and his journey brings him to a mother and her son who has some harsh words for Captain America to hear.
The Story: First, I really like seeing stories that concentrate on Steve Rogers the man versus Captain America, the symbol. I like that the complicated politics of the story don’t have easy answers and those complications spur Steve’s desire to walk among the people and really see what it is that they want from their country and its leadership. Zdarsky does a great job of not giving the reader the answer and showing multiple facets of the public and their opinions. Zdarsky crafts a mature, engaging and interesting read in this issue.
The Art: Diaz and Alpizar create some beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. From the Red Hulk confrontation to the battle in the streets, the action looks amazing, but I also really like the imagery of the quiet moments and how they frame the dialogue to add tension and emotion.
