The Rundown: Detective Moebius Moon becomes the newest member of the Powers division.

Twenty-five years ago, a young boy witnesses the death of his father at the hands of his powered mother and is helped by Pilgrim and Walker. That interaction stays with him when he begins to develop powers of his own years later and tries to find his place in the world. A place that will see him forgo becoming a costumed hero and joining the police department.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t join the division he wanted to but his career takes a turn when the Walker Act is announced and he finds himself being called in to join Powers Division. A call that will bring him face to face with his new partner who is currently fighting for her life against a team of powered attackers.

The Story: Bendis does a brilliant job of expanding the world of this series by focusing this issue on Moon and his backstory. I loved seeing the layers of his journey play out and the path he sets for himself. A path shaped not only by his own tragedy but by the kindness of Deena Pilgrim. I really love the world being created in this series and look forward to seeing what happens next.

The Art: Oeming’s art is beautifully detailed and visually vibrant throughout the issue. The imagery is stunning and I love the visual style.
