The Rundown: A delirious young Hellboy continues his fever dream adventure not knowing the real danger closing in.

Hellboy is still sick and having delusions that he is on an adventure with his favorite hero Lobster Johnson. What he doesn’t know is that a cultist is hot on his heels with a mission to kill him. As Hellboy’s adventure takes him to a warehouse where he fights invisible enemies, the man trying to kill him gets closer to completing his mission.

Back at the B.P.R.D., the Professor has an interesting dream featuring a familiar face that he cannot remember when he awakens, but he knows that something is wrong and Hellboy is missing. As Hellboy continues his fevered adventure, the man is confronted by an employee who gives the child the time he needs to escape.

The Story: Mignola and Sniegoski continue to craft an entertaining story with some great tension throughout. The story is fun at times and has great tension in others as you follow Hellboy’s imaginary adventure while dealing with the rising threat of his real pursuer. I love the callback to the previous adventure and look forward to seeing how this one ends.

The Art: Rousseau delivers some great art throughout the issue and manages to keep both the whimsical nature of Hellboy’s adventure fun and light while giving a dark edge to the killer getting closer to him.
