The Rundown: Nightcrawler and Legion attempt to excise Onslaught from the mutants of Krakoa.

Nightcrawler and Legion have determined how the entity known as Onslaught has managed to worm its way into the minds of the mutants and the connection goes back to both resurrection and Xavier. Kurt kidnaps Pixie and takes her on a harrowing journey until they reach their final destination and Onslaught attempts to attack them. Sensing that it has lost one of the mutants, Onslaught reaches out to see what Orchis is planning and also to begin his final plan to restore himself.

With his memory unlocked, Kurt proceeds to visit Cortez and explain what he plans and why they are there. Kurt and the others decide to give Fabian a lesson in civility. One that will hopefully fix the issue between he and Lost as well as test Kurt’s hypothesis of his philosophy. While Onslaught continues his plan for the mutants, Pixie returns to try to stop it. As Onslaught makes his final push for power, Kurt and the others will unlock a power that none of them believed possible. A power that could transform the future of Krakoa.

The Story: Spurrier crafts a touching, inspirational, aspiration and compelling story in this issue. The story is astounding in scope and scale with moments of humor, heart and tension throughout. I was impressed with how each moment played out and entertained by the journey. Cortez has some great moments in the story and the concepts laid out give a great direction and anchor to the overall mutant island scenario. A great story that I cannot wait to see unfold into something new.

The Art: Quinn delivers some beautiful art. The story has huge scale and the art matches it with vibrant details and exciting visuals.
