The Rundown: Mother Righteous finds herself in the hands of enemies on two fronts.

Mother Righteous knows that her plans are failing as Destiny puts all of the pieces together in her past. Pieces that will lead directly to the real threat to everyone, an evolved Sinister calling itself Enigma. After being attacked by two other Sinister clones, she barely escapes and winds up in the hands of Xavier and his hidden X-Men.

With Jean dying on another plane of existence, Charles begins the next phase of his plan. While the mutants fight against Orchis on Earth, Xavier and his team use the powers of Mother Righteous to prepare to take on Enigma and end him one war or another.

The Story: Gillen is crafting an intense and entertaining story in this issue. I love the fleshing out of this storyline and the different, intricate twists and turns the story takes. There is great drama in the story and I continue to enjoy the buildup to what looks like an epic finale for the mutants.

The Art: Maresca delivers some powerful art throughout the issue and I love the immersive feel of every moment brilliantly complemented by Blee’s colors.

You know, I kind of checked out of the Krakoa era when there was an “Immortal” and “Immoral” X-Men series simultaneously – it just got so convoluted and hard to follow – I love the art on this, I don’t know who these characters are….
