The newest episode of The Mandalorian is currently available to stream on Disney Plus and keen eyed viewers might have caught a familiar face among the group of mercenaries teamed up with Mando this week.
In the episode “The Prisoner”, Mando meets up with a member of a crew he used to run with. Taking on a mission to break out a prisoner being held by the New Republic, Mando has to team up with a new group of mercs. One of them is a Twi’lek named Xi’an with a thing for knives and a past with the Mandalorian. Xi’an is played by actress Natalia Tena. London born Tena is familiar to many pop culture fans for her roles through the years, but this role in the Star Wars universe now makes her part of three different rabid fandoms and counting.
Game of Thrones
Natalia Tena joined the cast of the hit series in the first season as wilding spearwife Osha. After fleeing from the threat of the White Walkers, Osha is captured when her fellow wildings attempt to steal Bran Stark’s horse. After being taken to Winterfell to work as a servant, she is the first to tell Maester Luwin about the threat of the White Walkers and why she fled. She becomes close with Bran, Rickon and Hodor and predicts other things that will happen including the return of dragons to the world before escaping Winterfell with Bran and company when Theon betrays them.
She continued on the series for seasons two and three before her character met her end at the hands of Ramsay Bolton in season six.
Harry Potter Series
Natalia Tena first popped up on the pop culture and fandom landscape with her role as Nymphadora Tonks in the fourth film of the Harry Potter series Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The auror and member of the Order under Alastor “Mad Eye” Moody was tasked with protecting both Harry Potter himself and Hogwarts when the return of Voldemort and the Death Eaters is scoffed at by the Ministry of Magic. Tonks would return in the final three films Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows I and II participating in the final battle of Hogwarts.
