The Rundown: Lam becomes part of her father’s order and his final mission will expose how dangerous his world was.

In the wake of her father’s death, Lam has learned a lot in a short period of time about the man and his work killing demons. She’s also been introduced to his friends including Gus who has his own unique story involving the fight against the rising dome hordes. A story that will show not only his tragic past, but how he and Lam’s father became friends. A story about faith.

After discovering where Lam’s father Cashel thinks a meteor that could help them will fall, Lam and the others go on the hunt for it. Their trip gives her the opportunity to learn more about the group and its members but it also exposes them all to danger when the demons decide to strike first. An attack that will expose a dark truth about Gus and put all of them in mortal danger.

The Story: Snyder brilliantly changes focus to another character in this issue and that character’s journey is just as compelling as Lam’s. Telling the story from Gus’ point of view gives the reader another perspective on the world and these characters. A perspective that actually has more context to the fight these characters face. The dialogue is fantastic and there is some great humor throughout which beautifully contrasts the seriousness of the plot. I cannot wait to see what happens next for these characters in the wake of an awesome cliffhanger ending.

The Art: Greg Capullo delivers some gorgeous art on every page of this issue. The plane sequence and fight are visually stunning and the action is breathtaking in both style and detail.
