The Rundown: A man with a single purpose begins to question his world.

A man finds himself doing the same thing day after day. He dives into the river, collects sand and brings it to the surface to give to others. It is a singular life, a singular task and a singular purpose. As he toils, he sees that the people around him, including ones he should know are all distorted versions of people.
As the man continues to question his existence, he sees structures and cities growing around him further inland and he wants answers. Answers that will bring him out of his toil and routine and plunge him into a revelation he was not prepared for when he ventures further beyond the river to the heart of the city itself.
The Story: Juni Ba creates an engaging, creative and interesting story in this issue. I love the story and the world it creates within it as well as the main character and his journey. There is a wonderful shift in tone and theme in the story as well and the twist that is born from it is fantastic. A truly great story that held my attention from start to finish as well as giving me a lot to think about.
The Art: Ba crafts some beautifully detailed and visually stunning art throughout the issue. From the character designs to the evolution of the world, everything looks amazing.
