The Rundown: A small town sheriff finds himself in the middle of a conspiracy.

Sheriff Kita Calhoon is the law in the small town of Baraboo and gets called to a crime scene where a man is found naked with no head or hands. He thinks back to a meeting he had with a US Marshall who wanted information about someone in town and Kite refused. After finding the body, he contacts the Marshall Service.
While he waits for help from the Marshall Service, he deals with a group of kids revealing a secret the town has been keeping for years. Marshall Khabrani arrives and reveals that the town has been harboring multiple protected witnesses and one of them might be the killer they’re looking for.
The Story: Fillion and Corson create an entertaining and engaging story in this first issue. Not only do I like the premise of this series, but I am intrigued by not only the world of the story, but the stakes for the characters within it. I love a good small town mystery and this one has the makings of a great one with some interesting characters, relationship complications and a bigger drama brewing beneath the surface. I look forward to seeing where this story goes next.
The Art: Soo Lee crafts some great art throughout the issue. I really like the character designs and the visual vibe of the world of the story.
